(houses, buildings & murals etc) gender • male. sexuality • heterosexual. the appearance face claim• colin ford identifying features• rex has had to get used to being tall and lanky and knowing there isn't much he can do about it. he spent his teenage years doing his best to try and bulk up a little but it never amounted to much. he's strong and fit and he guesses that's good enough, though it's taken him a little while to come to terms with it. he keeps his hair slightly grown and he doesn't do much to tame it, it's usually mused because he runs his hands through it constantly. the personality likes • the smell of paint, the simpsons, dogs, horses, tomato sauce, pizza without cheese, wrestling, running, early mornings, the smell of frost. dislikes • holidays such as christmas & easter, barbeque sauce, cats, birds, deep water, bad paint jobs, glitter, very long days, science fiction movies. strengths • precision with a paint brush, quoting movies. weaknesses • travel sickness. dreams • to own his own business one day. fears • deep water & birds. overall personality • like his father, rex doesn't always give the greatest first impression. he's aloof and he doesn't really do small talk, he'd rather not talk to anyone at all if all they have to talk about is the weather, that doesn't sit well with him. he's always got his head buried in a sketchbook and it takes an interesting person to lift his attention from it, usually only his father and his sister can. he's creative and as curious as they come and he can often find himself getting lost in the new things he learns. he doesn't always want to do what he's learning about but the process of discovery and learning has always been oddly comforting to him. the history father • KASEY EMERSON CAUFIELD , 52, mechanic. mother • morgan drake-caufield, deceased. siblings • --- caufield, 18, sister. important people • an aunt and uncle. hometown • san antonio, texas. overall history • for the first few years of rex's life, it was as one would expect it to be. well almost, apart from the fact his mother was in the military and was regularly gone from their lives, home long enough to spoil them and gone far longer than it took to miss her. rex grew up with a younger sister who he mostly liked, though he never really let her know it because he is his father's son incarnate. he was a happy enough child, but he was never overly affectionate, and he wasn't a touch person, though he still isn't. but life was good, he had parents who loved him, and he had everything he needed to thrive, and he was settled. until they weren't. the news came when he was eight. his mother had been killed while away from home. it shattered whatever sense of home and stability rex had. his once happy life was gone, knowing that his mother would never come home. that he'd never get to see her smiling face through the crowd at the airport again, he'd never get to listen to the stories she used to tell again, and he'd never have her standing in his doorway telling him she loved him again. it wasn't long after his mother died that he was uprooted from the only home he'd ever known to move across the ocean to england, because his father couldn't deal with the memories of his mother everywhere they went. rex thought differently, he didn't want to move. he wanted to stay where he could see his mother everywhere, though the second they landed in england, it felt like she was gone from him. he fought against staying in the town for about a year. arguing with his father over it, taking his frustrations out on his sister when he could and generally doing everything, he could not to settle into the town that was his father's refuge. it took over a year for him to start accepting that this was it, they weren't going anywhere, and he was stuck in this town. he never really embraced the town, though he did make friends eventually. though it was hard with his head always in his notebook, it had been his escape for so many years now, he felt incomplete without it in his hands. he was always going to leave hickstead, there was always a plan formulating in his head and he was always trying to work out the plan to go. until one day he found himself forgetting. he's not twenty two and he hasn't left yet, though vacations would be nice. he's still the same as he always has been, he's not interested in close connection, touchy feeling affection and he's certainly been described as aloof. but he's got a handful of people he knows he can rely on, he gets on a lot better with his sister now and he's even willing to say his father, though he still holds certain grudges against him, he can't help it, family life is a lot smoother than it was when he was a kid, that's for sure. the role player alias • what you'd like us to call you age • if you'd like other characters • if any |
